We hope you all enjoyed our virtual contest. Please join our Get Away From It All KAL where we've have been having much small little contests for digital patterns and magazines. As we continue to keep our distance in person, the Guild's board is working on more online ways we can stay connected so stay tuned.
* Where did the prizes come from? The Guild is purchasing the gift certificates as a way to help support local fiber businesses. How did the Guild chose who to buy from? For this contest, we looked at the online presence of all the 2020 Yarnover vendors and made a list of those who had digital gift certificates available. From that list, we chose three random places using a random number generator. As we plan more online activities that require prizes, we will purchase gift certificates from other Yarnover vendors and businesses that are Guild members.
Yarnover Shawl Contest Voting!
It's time for the Virtual Yarnover Shawl Contest! While we'd all rather be enjoying a wonderful Yarnover Dinner together and seeing these beautiful shawls in person, let's embrace this next best thing for the times we are in.
At the beginning of each entry, you will find the number for the entry, the name of the knitter, their Ravelry id in parentheses, the pattern name, and yarn name(s). All the information and pictures were provided by the knitters themselves, so it is correct to our knowledge. Please look them over and chose a favorite in two categories, best use of color and best use of texture or lace. (Yes, we know we could have many more categories, but these seem to cover the most while keeping things simple.) Remember, we considered a shawl to encompass anything that went around the shoulders, so ponchos, capes, wraps, etc... were also welcome.
When you have picked you favorites, vote here with their numbers. You can only vote once! Voting closes at 8:00am on Monday, April 27th. We will also pick a random winner from those that do not win one of the categories.

Virtual Yarnover Shawl Contest
The entries have been beautiful! We've extended the deadline until 5:00pm Thursday, April 23rd, so get those photos in!
We are all sad that Yarnover 2020 won’t be happening next week. One of the things we’ll really miss is seeing everyone modeling their fabulous knitwear, especially their Yarnover shawls.
So, we decided why not have a virtual Yarnover shawl contest?! Here’s how it works…
-
Send Kathy, membershipmkg@gmail.com, no more than two pictures of a shawl you have knit in the last year by noon on Thursday, April 23rd. One entry per person please. We consider a shawl anything you wear over your shoulders, so capes, caplets, ponchos, and shawlettes are also welcome.
-
Please include your name, Ravelry ID, pattern name, and yarn used if you know it.
-
You do not have to have been going to Yarnover to share a shawl, but you do have to be a Guild member.
-
We will post all the pictures on our website by the evening of Friday, April 24th and there will be a link to vote for your favorite in different categories. Voting will be open through Sunday, April 26th.
-
We will award winners in each of the categories and also chose one random winner from all the entries. Winners will receive a $25 online gift certificate from a Yarnover vendor.

Get the most out of your love of knitting! Membership benefits include pre-registration for Yarnover, organized public service projects and camaraderie with fellow knitters. Annual dues are $30.
