We are excited to have Laura Nelkin, an upstate New York-based designer, joining us for Yarnover 2017!
She received a degree in apparel design from Cornell University, and knitting has been her passion for years. In addition to knitting, designing and teaching, she loves doing yoga, gardening, cooking and sewing.
You can learn more about Laura on her website and find her designs on Ravelry.
If beading is a favorite tool your knitting toolbox, or if you want to add it, Laura will teach two bead-based classes At Yarnover 2017.
In "Beading 101," knitters will learn a variety of methods to work with beads in knitting patterns.
In "Laden: An Exploration of Reversible Cables," knitters will work on a faux Mobius cowl pattern that includes heavy cables, a delicate lace stitch and bead work.
Learn more about Laura's classes and the other offerings of the weekend in the Yarnover brochure, and pay your membership dues to be able to register as soon as possible (January 7 at 8 a.m. for those who paid before December 31, and January 14 at 8 a.m. for those who paid after the New Year.)
