Though Lars Rains has decades of experience, he continually evolves his knitting and makes a point to learn something new with each project. His work has been featured in Vogue Knitting, Knit Simple, Knit Edge, Chicago Knits, and Knitty.
He is known for his love of Lopi and is the author of the book Modern Lopi: One. (One of his designs from that book won the Grand Prize at the inaugural Independent Designers contest at the leading yarn industry association’s fashion show this year!)
More about his work can be found on his website or on Ravelry.
At Yarnover 2017, Lars will be teaching two powerhouse classes on Icelandic knitting: "Design Your Own Icelandic Sweater" and "Icelandic Yoke Design."
In "Design Your Own," knitters will use their own body measurements and work through all the steps to personalize a Lopi pattern.
In "Yoke Design," knitters will learn about colors and yarn dominance. Attendees will leave the class with a swatch of their own yoke design.
Either class is perfect for an aspiring designer or fellow Lopi enthusiast!
