December Silent Auction Details
December 20 is the Minnesota Knitters' Guild’s annual potluck and Silent Auction. For those of you who are new to the Guild or haven't been to our December meeting before, a brief explanation follows.
To raise money for the Guild, members can cull their stashes for yarn, books, notions and other knitting-related items to be sold at the auction. If you want to donate an unfinished project, please include a copy of the pattern if possible.
To save time (and maybe a little frustration during the busy holiday season), members can bring donation items to the November 15 meeting or, as always, they can bring their items the night of.
An information sheet is completed by the donor or a designated Guild member that tells what each item is and if there is a minimum starting bid for that item. For example, yarn is identified by fiber content, color, yardage and a minimum bid, if desired. The information sheets will be available on each donation table the night of.
During the meeting itself, members will have a designated amount of time to roam the aisles and bid on whatever they what to buy. When the bidding is over, the winning bidders' names will be highlighted on each bidding sheet. Members can then pick up and pay for their winning item/items. We will accept payment via either cash, check or credit card.
All proceeds go to the Guild to support the upcoming year’s activities. Anything not sold goes back into the Guild’s stash for use in the upcoming year.
Get the most out of your love of knitting! Membership benefits include pre-registration for Yarnover, organized public service projects and camaraderie with fellow knitters. Annual dues are $30.
