May Guest Speaker: Wendy Johnson
Please join the Minnesota Knitters' Guild as we welcome Wendy Johnson on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m.
Have you ever really thought about yarn? How is it dyed? How does the twist in one yarn compare to the twist in another yarn? Why does one fiber work perfectly for a hat, but not a pair of socks? How does yarn work, and how can I make yarn work for me; the knitter!
On May 20 2014, meet Wendy Johnson, our former cablegram editor and author of the new book "Yarn Works". Wendy will be on hand to share her wealth of yarny knowledge with us. So bring your knitting, and be prepared to leave with a whole new appreciation for that lovely string between your needles.
Wendy has also graciously donated three copies of her new book for door prizes. Copies of her book will also be available for purchase, and Wendy will be delighted to sign copies of her book.
Amy Detjen, April Guest Speaker
Please join the Minnesota Knitters' Guild as we welcome Amy Dejen on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m.
Come listen as Amy presents "I Don't Knit Sleeves and You Can't Make Me!"
Amy will share with us a humorous and heartfelt look at the things we love and don't love about our hobbies, our lives and ourselves.
Amy was the “List Mom” of the original Knit List for over four years before she started KnitU. She’s very proud that she’s been Meg Swansen’s assistant at her Knitting Camp for 20 years. Teaching knitting and helping people learn about the wide range of knitting possibilities is something Amy is passionate about, and she loves solving those stubborn knitting problems!
Get the most out of your love of knitting! Membership benefits include pre-registration for Yarnover, organized public service projects and camaraderie with fellow knitters. Annual dues are $30.
