First Annual Chicagoland Yarn Crawl
Planning a trip to Stitches Midwest in August? Twenty Chicago-area yarn stores are sponsoring a yarn crawl the same week, from August 13 through 22.
Each store will be giving out a store-exclusive free pattern, a discount on yarn purchases, and a chance to participate in a raffle for a gift basket worth $100. Yarn crawlers get the chance to participate in the grand prize raffle worth $500 if they visit 10 stores.

Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of Irish Crochet Lace
Author and Irish lace historian Maire Treanor will present a one-hour illustrated talk on the history and patterns of Irish Clones lace on July 29, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul.
Treanor will also sign copies of her book “Clones Lace,” which will be available for purchase. Refreshments and a special theme tour of the Hill House highlighting Mrs. Hill’s needlework will follow the program.
