Join us for our annual end-of-year holiday potluck and silent auction. Members are asked to bring a sweet or savory treat to share; beverages will be provided. Search your stash for unwanted yarn, knitting supplies, books or even abandoned works in progress to donate to the silent auction. All proceeds will benefit our Service Committee projects for 2014. This is a great way to destash for a good cause!

Sheryl Thies (pronounced more or less like "tea" with an "s") will be our guest speaker sharing about creativity. It's been said that creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes and art is knowing which mistakes to keep. Sounds simple but creativity can be tricky and elusive. Sometimes creative risks are rewarded; sometimes they're just messy. We'll take a look at the creative process and ways to tap into our creative ability.
Sheryl has been selling her designs for over 10 years. She has authored 5 books, co-authored 5 more, has been a contributor to both knit and crochet magazines, and designed for yarn companies. Being "bi crafty", Sheryl enjoys both hooks and needles and she relies heavily on "Mother Nature" for her inspiration. Her most recent knitting book, Knitting By Nature, was inspired by the Gurneys Seed Catalog. Her most recent book, Tunisian Crochet Encore, was released in 2013. Sheryl lives with her husband in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
Get the most out of your love of knitting! Membership benefits include pre-registration for Yarnover, a subscription to our quarterly Cable Gram, organized public service projects and camaraderie with fellow knitters. Annual dues are $30.
