Yarn Harvest Shop Hop

Looking for a way to get out and enjoy the fall colors this September while visiting some of outstate Minnesota’s best yarn shops? From September 15 to 22, 2007, check out the second annual Yarn Harvest Shop Hop. The tour stretches from Battle Lake to Hibbing, with nine stops at well-established as well as brand-new shops. This year’s participants include Monika's, in Park Rapids; At Loose Ends, in Perham; Prairie Needles, in Battle Lake; Nordic Living, in Nisswa; Unraveled, in Pequot Lakes; Among the Pines, in Baxter; Between Friends, in Brainerd; Yarnworks, in Grand Rapids; and Knitting Knight, in Hibbing. All shops will be open every day from September 15 to 22, with daily drawings, featured hat patterns or kits for purchase, goody bags, and "passport" stampings. Visit every shop in the hop, and you're eligible to win one of three grand prizes. So bring family and friends to Minnesota's great yarn shops! The magazine is published by Interweave Press, which also has an impressive yearly lineup of knitting books. Register online until May 1, 2007, for the No Sheep for You Secret Pals Skein Swap, an event to celebrate the launch of Amy R. Singer's No Sheep for You: Knit Happy with Cotton, Silk, Linen, Hemp, Bamboo & Other Delights, reviewed in the spring 2007 issue of MKG's Cable Gram newsletter.
