Bundles of Love

Bundles of Love

Written by Rebecca Ganzel Thompson

Each quarter, the Minnesota Knitters' Guild encourages members to knit for a special charity or community service. Our first-quarter project for 2007, Bundles of Love, was also our fourth-quarter project three years ago. This Minnesota all-volunteer nonprofit (it has 501(c)3 status) is dedicated to helping infants and their families. It provides baby items to newborns who don't have adequate clothing when they leave local hospitals. They prepare 60 to 70 “bundles” per month, with more requests than they are able to fill. They are in need of newborn and preemie sweaters, booties and 30x30 baby afghans, but have an excess of baby caps.

Items were collected at our March 2007 monthly meeting by Teresa Wilts, who coordinates Bundles of Love in the northern Twin Cities suburbs.
