It's Back!

Becky Lyon has a vast collection of vintage, antique and just fascinating buttons and clasps for sale. The items are decoratively sewn to cards so you don't even have to use the buttons on textiles. You can frame them or just look at them, too! The sale will be held at Linden Hills Yarn & Textile Design.

Textile Center is calling all artists to submit handmade, artisan craft and art items for the Holiday Show and Sale in the Shop at Textile Center. Work will be on view November 1 to December 30, 2011. Artwork may include unique gift items, home décor, wearables, accessories, seasonal and/or holiday items.

Submissions will be accepted at Textile Center:

The Minnesota Knitters' Guild goes to Decorah Iowa

All of us here at the Minnesota Knitters' Guild were very inspired when Sue Flanders and Janine Kosel paid a visit to one our our meetings to talk about their book "Norwegian Handknits". So inspired that the The Travel, Trips and Retreats Committee decided to do a fun overnight to Decorah Iowa to experience the Vesterheim’s collection of Norwegian textiles for ourselves was in order. Sue and Janine will be taking the trip with us and we will knit a project together. Participants will also receive a pattern from Arnhild Hillesland.

The trip runs from Saturday morning, October 8, through Sunday afternoon on October 9.

The cost is $170 and includes lodging, transportation and all meals but Saturday night.

To register:

1. Simply download and print out the PDF of the registration form, which is available below.
2. Complete the form and make out a check.
3. Mail the completed form and a check for the complete amount to the address on the form via US mail.

The Swatch Team Wants You!!

Calling all knitters to create a yarn bombing at the Walker. Crotcheters welcome. Weekly creative rendezvous every Thursday will culminate in a yarn bombing on September 1st.

The group will meet June 23 to September 1 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Walker Open Field.
