Knitters' Guild Opens the Fair!
The Knitters' Guild has a booth in the Creative Activities building all day on August 26th. And guess what? It's also the first day of the Minnesota State Fair!
Coincidence? Or are we just that important!
Stop by the Guild booth if you're at the Fair. If you take out your knitting while you're there, no one will know you're not part of the exhibit!
It's harder to make knitting look natural when you're knitting in the barns, but don't let that stop you. And if you spill something on your knitting, remember the words of the late great Elizabeth Zimmerman, 'Knit on with confidence and hope, through all crisis!'

Weavers Guild's Upcoming Classes
Do you have 'quite a bit' of yarn? Consider this: if you were a knitter and a weaver, you'd need twice as much yarn! Let the Weavers Guild help you strengthen your defense for having the lovely stash you do. Check out the Weavers Guild's line-up of classes at the Textile Center in September and October!
Calling All Vendors for the Midwest Alpaca Fair!
The Upper Midwest Alpaca Organization is looking for vendors who sell fiber garments, kits, patterns, or other fiber-related goodies for their Fall Festival on Saturday, November 6 in the Hopkins Eisenhower Community Center on Highway 7.
The only restriction is that yarn used in finished garments, kits, and everything else must be produced in the U.S.
If you would like a booth to sell your wares at the Festival, contact Susan Simonton at 952-938-6904 or .
Stitch N' Pitch Game with the Saints!
On August 23rd, starting around 7 p.m., baseball players from the St. Paul Saints and the Sioux City Explorers will gather at Midway Stadium on Energy Park Drive in St. Paul to watch the knitting action in the stands and try to play some baseball.
The night will begin with a yarn swap at the front gate before the game. So far, no word on how many ballplayers will attend the swap.
Those knitters who are able to break away from the swap and make it through the gates may then form their own teams in the stands and make up their own knitting challenges as the baseball game progresses.
Get the most out of your love of knitting! Membership benefits include pre-registration for Yarnover, a subscription to our quarterly Cable Gram, organized public service projects and camaraderie with fellow knitters. Annual dues are $30.
