The Minnesota Knitters Guild will be hosting the Seventh Annual Twin Cities Knit-Out on Sunday, October 10th, at Southdale Center.
The celebration of knitting will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in Macy’s Court. There will be free knitting lessons, door prizes, fashion shows, community service knitting projects, expert knitters to answer questions, and local yarn shops displaying the latest in yarns, patterns and tools.
Knit-Outs are a nationwide activity and are held throughout the country in cities including Washington DC, New York, Boston, Dallas, Cleveland and Philadelphia. The purpose of a Knit-Out is to bring together knitting enthusiasts and to introduce and educate the public about the craft of knitting through lessons, demonstrations, displays, and resources. Attendees are encouraged to wear knitted garments or accessories, bring their knitting and sit and knit awhile!
