After weeks of anticipation, the Minnesota Knitters' Guild showed up in force once again for the first day of the Minnesota State Fair. Set-up went quickly and we were on our way answering questions, instructing, and demonstrating simple knitting stitches.
On display we had the MKG Service Project 2010 – Hats and Scarves. The lovely display elicited a number of questions, including requests for purchase!
We talked up the service project, Yarnover, Knit-Out and the Guild itself. Adults and children alike (boys and girls) were interested in knitting on our sample yarn. We still had plenty of time for visiting and knitting…and watching people smile as we knit. It was a very beautiful day, centered on the pure joy of knitting…what could be better than that?
We had another good year of volunteer support for the table: Elizabeth Tuckwood, Jennifer Williams, Cheryl Talbot, Jenny Wilder, Mary Brown, Michele Buck, Linda Wasmund, Bonnie Swierzbin, Kris King, Jane Niemi, Rebecca Yaker, Gretchen Funk, Elizabeth Watkins, Brandy Snyder, Anne Jones, Merrie Davidson, Kathy Dom, Barb Mons, Denise Fryzek, Kathi Randall, Sherry Macklin, Rebecca Ganzel Thompson, Helen Holter, Cindy Hanson and Brigid Brindley.
Thank you to all who volunteered—we could not have done it without you!
