MKG Website Exclusive - knitters.org
Did you miss our last meeting at the Textile Center? Well, then here's a brief summary of our meeting in October.
The first item on the agenda was a proposed amendment to enable groups of special interest -- knitting and/or regional groups -- to affiliate with the Minnesota Knitters' Guild. We will be voting on this amendment in November.
The latest Cable Gram newsletter was made available for a quick perusal. When your copy arrives, please read it because there are lovely remembrances for Shirley Kimball, our former president and Jim Rada, husband of MKG member Karen Jensen. Sandy Moore has always done such a marvelous job at putting the Cable Gram together. She's ready to pass the baton to the next aspiring journalist - HINT: read the middle pages.
After the typical meeting housekeeping items, many MKG members shared information about knitting camps, weekend retreats, etc. All speakers said that the experience was well worth it, and they encouraged the rest of us to give it a try at least once.
The winner of the service project Chemo Hat contest was awarded a hat book.
The evening ended with the drawing for the door prize winners.
Our next service project will be Preemie Mittens due in January. Check this site for pattern links or come to one of the next guild meetings to pick up a free pattern. Thanks to all who participated in this month's service project!
Would you like to find out more about the Minnesota Knitters' Guild? Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings. Please join us for the November 18th meeting. MKG member Mr. Dale Jackson will travel up from Iowa to talk about his life as a fiber artist -- from growing, to spinning, weaving, dyeing -- and of course, knitting!
