MKG Website Exclusive - knitters.org
What a busy summer we had! We survived heat, humidity, rain and mosquitoes. I'm sure that our knitting has played a big part in our survival. If you haven't been knitting, it's time to get back at it. It's time to get those projects finished and start on Holiday knitting. And time to plan to attend the especially Textile Center's Holiday Exhibit and Sale, which open on November 1 and runs through December 23. Great handmade items for holiday giving.
While sitting on my porch swing on a lovely, cool morning earlier this fall, I thought of a couple of things I could make for the Holiday sale. Of course, that caused me to mentally rearrange my knitting schedule. There seems to be no end to the ideas that run through my head. I wish I could knit in my sleep or at least stay awake later at night.
Knitters' Guild activities this past summer included several information and demonstration booths: Shepherds' Harvest at the Washington County Fairgrounds on Mothers' Day weekend, the Irish Fest on Harriet Island, and the Minnesota State Fair. Thank you, thank you to all of you who volunteered at these events!! Everything that the Guild accomplishes depends on countless volunteers who give their time and their good cheer to make the events a success. If you're visiting our website for the first time, think about attending a Guild meeting soon to learn more about becoming involved with a huge community of knitters.
I'm looking forward to a great fall with all of you. We have some wonderful programs scheduled, so check out our Events Calendar page, mark your own calendars for the third Tuesday of each month, bring your knitting and enjoy.
Happy knitting!
