MKG-Meeting  October Guild Meeting View Details

Come and spend an evening getting to know author Lisa Bogart. She will be sharing her book "Knit With Love: Stories To Warm A Knitter's Heart". There will be copies of books on hand for you to purchase and have signed by the author. Come and be inspired by Lisa's encouraging and motivational words as she talks about the blessings knitting brings to both the life of the knitter and the benefactors of all those fiber goodies!

Lisa Bogart believes in the importance of the knitting community. At our October meeting she has requested that we bring knitted/crocheted squares for Warm Up America. So take those leftover bits of yarn, dig in your stash, and create some beautiful squares to donate to a great cause. Need help with your squares? Go to http//:craftyarncouncil.com/warmup.html.

Beyond Coffee and Chocolate: A Peek Into the Life of a Yarnista

In this hilarious discussion, students will trace the journey of Sharon McMahon

from a preteen girl who took the bus to a knitting class, through her twelve years

teaching some of the most challenging high school students in America, and

arriving at her current destination: a full time Yarnista (and creative director) of

one of the country’s largest hand dyeing studios. How did Three Irish Girls get its

start? Learn how it grew from a pair of size 7 knitting needles to a 3,000 square

foot studio with eight employees, dozens of exclusive patterns created by some

of the top designers in the world, and a blog following of more than 30,000

people per month.

This is a lecture-based class, with time for a questions and answers and

shopping. The lecture will take place at 24 N 1st Ave West., Duluth, Mn. from

1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on October 22, 2011. Members are free, non-members $5.00

Registration is required. Call (218) 724-5435 or email Cameron
